This site is the landing page for a Georgia Tech Bootcamp Spot project report. It is the culmination of a group effort from students that are not actually employees of Crunchyroll or any other anime team.
We’re working as if we’re on the Crunchyroll analyst team and we’re looking for popular anime. We will use various published anime rankings as well as an API to pull the initial data. We want to see if the length of a series impacts its popularity.

Cyndaquil.ipynb is the original Jupyter Notebook used during the project and contains the bulk of the work. The Rated TV and Top Merged Dataframe were created here as well as the Plotly Graphs.
Crunchy Roll.ipynb is Jupyter Notebook used for the graphs used in the Top Rated section.
Don't forget to check out the Top Merged Dataframe and Plotly Graphs found on the top of the page for more graphs and info!

Brothers Edward and Alphonse Elric search for the Philsopher's Stone, hoping to restore their bodies, which were lost when they attempted to use their alchemy skills to resurrect their deceased mother. Edward, who lost only limbs, joins the State Military, which gives him the freedom to continue the search as he tries to restore his brother, whose soul is tethered to earth by a suit of armor.
Using an API, we were able to get an XML report that listed the top anime and a breakdown of their ratings with the total views and votes.
From Kaggle, we discovered a CSV with the anime list, genre, type, and a different rating source. However, because of the limitations in translation, the two sources did not sync well for what we needed. Only a handful of the CSV names matched up with the API. From there, we tracked down a different Kaggle CSV source that also included a breakdown of anime with the English, Japanese, and title synonyms. It also had the type, source, and a different, unique score system. Just to give an example of the data we worked with, this CSV included 14,478 titles that included Music, Movies, TV, OVAs, ONAs, and Specials!
Looking for the longest shows available on Crunchyroll to waste some time? Here we compare them to see how they fared against each other.
To get the information, we removed the irrelevant columns and looked for shows with over 100 episodes. The ratings were available. Before we get to the longest series, we decided to take a look at the least popular, longest lasting shows!
Unfortunately, all 3 of those made the final "longest series" list. Be careful in your show selections if you are looking to binge something.
Here we have the longest shows, ignoring rating:
The longest shows, ranked by their 1 star reviews. The most hated list:
The longest shows, ranked by their 5 star reviews. The most loved list:
Using the ratings with the longest running series, we found that Naruto has an overwhelming amount of 5-star reviews.

It tells the story of Naruto Uzumaki, a young ninja who seeks recognition from his peers and dreams of becoming the Hokage, the leader of his village.
Featured in Image: Kakashi Hatake
In the story, Kakashi is the teacher of Team 7, consisting of the series' primary characters, Naruto Uzumaki, Sasuke Uchiha, and Sakura Haruno.
We extracted just TV shows for a more bingeworthy experience. Below, the Top TV Shows are listed inside of an iframe. The data in the iframe was sorted by score and everything with a score under 8.5 was removed. The dataframe was saved as a CSV, uploaded to Google Sheets, and shared publicly so that it could be embedded into the site. By default, Google Sheets has some formatting tools that were unnecessary for the iframe. Manually updating and adding the following “widget=false&headers=false&chrome=false” to the end of the url corrected the display.
The world of Earth-land is home to numerous guilds where wizards[a] apply their magic for paid job requests. Natsu Dragneel, a dragon slayer wizard from the Fairy Tail guild, explores the Kingdom of Fiore in search of his missing adoptive father, the dragon Igneel.
Hunters are licensed, elite members of humanity who are capable of tracking down secret treasures, rare beasts, or even other individuals. They can also access locations that regulars cannot access. To obtain a license one must pass the rigorous annual Hunter Examination run by the Hunter Association, which has a success rate of less than one in a hundred-thousand.
